My many cars!

I talk a lot about my cars, past and present.  Here's a "close to chronological" list of those I've had.  For a detailed look at each of my current cars - they're posted to the Gallery (also included are select former cars).

~ 12/66 The best "holiday" gift ever!  I took to 4 wheels at a very early age!

... a gift from Uncle Carl ...

Turns out, that this little Batmobile is worth big bucks now!  Betcha I'd find it on eBay!  Below, me now - I still like Batmobiles!

~ 05/69 My father taught me how to drive on this riding mower.  It wasn't just steering, you know - I knew how to engage the gears and everything.

My next driving experience included racing around the backyard in my 5hp go-kart (looking for pictures now).

Note: What's the deal with the white stockings?  Guess I was into that back then.

'70s I'm looking for an old picture of me on the Kettcar I had when I was about 7 years old - I think that's when I really started to get into go-carts and cars.
I pulled the handbrake up on this little German car and was able to do 360s!  :)

Just got this on eBay!

2/80 - 9/80 My first car, while in high school - yes, a red Corvette. My sister's first car was a Corvette also.  Well it definitely made my classmates jealous, but I had more fun in my father's VW!

Unfortunately the 'vette was totaled on the second day of school, my senior year. You can still see the scar of the accident on the center divider, across from Daffy Dan's on Rt. 10 in East Hanover, NJ.  I drove the VW from that point on :) ...

9/80 - 10/80 Yup, I drove a '63 Caddy convertible.  This isn't the actual picture, but my dad had one EXACTLY like it.  I drove it to Hanover Park for about a month, before I got his VW (which was much easier to park).
10/80 - 2/82 My dad got a new car; I got the Super Beetle!  This car was great - great in the snow, loved the gearbox and clutch.

My father and I installed a very high-end stereo in this car ... Visonik David 5000 speakers, Concord pre-amp only tape deck, separate amps and all (very cool stuff in its day).

This car got beat up too and soon after the engine was replaced we sold it for exactly what my father paid for it new!

2/82 - 8/90 Oh the LeCar. I get teary eyed even thinking about it. This was and is my ALL TIME favorite car! Note the 3 lug nut alloys, Ansa exhaust and Zender spoiler? This car was it - this wasn't just a LeCar ... this was the Sport LeCar! Special interior with Recaros and a nicer-than-Momo steering wheel. Died a tragic death in Toronto Canada. Totaled while having the exhaust system worked on - vandalized, even the interior was destroyed. Rumor had it, that the people I worked with up there didn't like the fact I was American - and trashed my car.  Insurance paid me diddly. Can you see the plate? ENJOUÉ ... such a nice little car.
6/86 - 9/94 Another one of my very favorites!  This was my "first" second car, I thought it would be nice to have a summer car with AC.  The LeCar became my daily driver. The X/19 was a wonderful car, people actually thought it was some sort of Ferrari - because of the Boxer style paint job - I didn't correct them.  Never ever had a real problem with the car, so forget what they say about FIAT (Fix it again Tony).  Put nearly 45K on this little car - from NJ to Toronto, to Atlanta and back to NJ.  Found a good home near Edison, a collector. :(
~ '93 - '94 Best thing I ever brought home from Toronto, sort of!  Was only $600 CND, but it needed work - kept the Ex busy for a long time.  Flat-bedded it all the way to Atlanta then sold it to a kid in Alabama for $600 US (big profit I'm guessing).

(no pictures of this car - sorry, but it was
just like this one)

8/90 - 11/90 The Jeep Sahara replaced the LeCar in '90 - I wanted one just like my father's (but he had the ragtop).  Unfortunately, this wasn't the most comfortable car to drive on a daily basis. It was very nice, I was 4 wheeling over curbs and medians, but it only lasted a few months. Drove it back to NJ, and my parents found it a good home.
9/94 - 2/98 A great car all around - made my drive to Newark everyday bearable!  We upgraded the stereo with BMW Premium speakers found while in Florida for a few days.

Note:  To those that know me - this is about where my "car itch" started to kick in! Oh, and the car pictured here isn't mine - I HAD the air dam, unlike this guy who obviously knocked it off!  :\

2/98 - 2/99 My first Mercedes!  My first 4 door and my first automatic (besides the Corvette, but that doesn't count).  Loved this car, I felt very special, if only an entry level C230.

Note: The husband's SLK was delivered 1/99. Since we both had matching BMWs and MBs at the time (will add link to his page o' cars soon) - looked like the C230 was going back to the dealership ... profitable trade on a yellow SLK!

2/99 - 2/99 The yellow SLK - delivered on my birthday with a big bow even!  ... one red one, one yellow one ... very chic.  My husband had the red SLK.

MMMmmm, didn't like it - automatic. The MB automatic was great in the C230 - but something was missing in the SLK.

2/99 - 10/00 And 745 miles later - traded the yellow SLK in on a black SLK!  Very cool roof, GREAT stereo.  Enjoyed this car alot ... would have been even nicer if I customized the interior with two tone yellow seats!  I like yellow and black - took two SLKs to figure that out.

Note:  The truth is, I thought I wanted an automatic, since I liked the C230 so much.  Big mistake.  Couldn't find a yellow 5sp, so I took a black one instead - can't go wrong with black.

10/00 - 02/02

2000 TT 225 Cab - Peer pressure from a friend's husband.  What a car - I drove it, I bought it!  THIS is a great car for the price!  Closest thing to Porsche, I think.  Very cool Baseball interior.  The TT has such a following of the nicest people, a real communiTTy

02/02 - 12/04

2000 996 C4 Coupe - The dream car ... OMG, this car is nice.  Thinking this will be my last car (for a while, ?).  As of, 12/04 ...

2002 - 996 C4 Cab - ... the call came in "hey, we just got a red C4 cab in - I bet you'd like it!" - the call was for my husband.  I got the car! I ALWAYS wanted a hardtop convertible.  This one has about a trillion dollars worth of options - I'm thinking this car will get more attention then me, however.  :(

08/06 -
12/07

2006 997 C4S Cab - Well, as much as I liked that red car above, I was itching for a black one again - and I think I'll stick with this one for a loooongg time!  It has EVERYTHING:  bumper beep beeps, red calipers, sports seats, sports exhaust and even the short shift I ALWAYS wanted!  :)  This car is FAST!

Take a look at all the Porsches we own/owned, posted to the gallery ...

2008 G500 Designo Espresso edition - ALWAYS wanted one (of these too)!  The interior is just like my 911 Millennium (above), love it.

Good deal, couldn't pass this one up!

The G55 can wait a bit longer! ;)
